DR. GENTRE R. ADKINS III & ZELMA J. ADKINS
Dr. Gentre R. Adkins III, upon the move of God succeeded his father as the new shepherd of flock, Pastor Adkins III promoted prayer, fellowship, and giving. Teaching that God’s word, says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
For more than 20 years, Dr. Adkins III and First Lady Zelma Adkins has been teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while tending to the needs of the community. FSM has spiritually increased and many souls have been won to Christ, and under the power of the Holy Spirit, lives have been transformed.
As the Shepherds of FSM, Pastor and First Lady Adkins have instituted the annual Community Turkey Giveaway. This ministry raised over $20,000 yearly from within its membership to purchase over 1,300 turkeys to give away citywide to needy families in the spirit of love. FSM has also partnered with the Children’s Institute Inc. (CII) to provide a place for the local children to begin their educational journey.
Faithful Saint Mark M.B.C. for more than 50 years have served God and served the community. With the covering of the Holy Spirit, God’s Ministry is elevating to higher heights and walking into a new season of liberation. Through the passion of Pastor and First Lady Adkins as well as the prayers from the believers, Faithful St. Mark Church Family will continue to be effective in their sharing love, spreading the world, and changing lives in the city of Los Angeles and worldwide.
PASTOR & FIRST LADY
ROOSEVELT ADKINS & LEBERTHA ADKINS
Faithful Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church (FSM) was organized in1965 to serve the Greater Los Angeles Community, in the City of Los Angeles California.
Pastor/Founder, Roosevelt Adkins under the auspices of the Holy Spirit obtained, constructed, and assembled the body of Christ on the corner of 95th Street, where the church currently resides. On Sunday August 15, 1965 Pastor Adkins open the doors of Faithful Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church, with only six people present, which include Pastor Adkins, his wife, daughter, two sons, and Deacon Charles Davis. In its early conception FSM was influential in providing the community with a place of refuge and worship, while imparting God’s love. Beginning as a mission, the church was organized with about 15 members and began to grow spiritually and physically.
Pastor Adkins with the FSM church family purchased the building and property and began an expansion project where the church added a second division to the church, which included upstairs, additional office spaces, educational classrooms, dining area, kitchen facility, and restrooms.
Pastor R.V. Adkins for almost 31 years depended upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead him in his pastorate. The Bible teaches “I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed beg bread.” On October 29, 1995 Pastor Adkins appointed his son Reverend Gentre R. Adkins III to the pastorate of Faithful Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church. And on April 27, 2001 Pastor Emeritus Roosevelt Adkins went from his earthly tabernacle to a place eternal in the heavens to forever be with the Lord. This was the place in which he preached about and dedicated his life to.
From its humble beginnings, FSM has transformed and saved many souls!
